Apple IIc Power Supply and Adapter By Ridge Prevost, Tucson Apple Core

    Question:

Where can I buy an Apple IIc Power Supply or Adapter?

    Answer:

The Apple IIc has a small 12 VDC silver power supply box that sits inside the case and attaches to the motherboard. This component is referred to in the Apple Service manual as the power supply.

There is also an external component that most people incorrectly call the power supply which is actually the power adapter. This is lovingly referred to as "the brick" becuz it is as heavy as one, sits on the floor, and has two cables coming out of it: one to the wall socket and one to the back of the IIc. This "brick" transforms 115 VAC power to 12 VDC.

Either the power supply or the power adapter can be had for less than $50 from: Pre-Owned Electronics (near Boston MA, 1-800-274-5343) or Shreve Systems (in Shreveport LA, 1-800-227-3971)
